Recently, I've been writing a lot for the music project "Bury The Past", and that coupled with all the transitions in my life, creativity seemed to be seeping from me. Some of the stuff I've been writing isn't necessarily material that I originally intended or even imagined the we would perform with "Bury The Past", but I felt very compelled to craft those ideas and feelings anyways, because of what they meant to me, and not strictly write for Bury The Past, but to just write.
One of those songs, ironically titled 'One', is a song that I knew I had to record. At first it wasn't something that I planned to release, but over time, it became clear that I needed to. I'm releasing 'One' as a single on Tuesday, April 21st - You will be able to download the track from the Snocap store found on my Myspace and on my website. I really hope you enjoy this track, and I look forward to bringing you the new Bury The Past music, soon. So keep in touch - contact me on Myspace or follow me on Twitter. As always, all of your kind words and support are appreciated! |

I added a section to the website with works I've written - song lyrics and also general writings. I'll add more existing and write some new stuff in the future. |

In the eternal pursuit of organization,I was throwing out accumulated, useless stuff yesterday and noticed a stack of phone books in a little shelf under my home phone. Shuffling through the stack – editions 2003, 2004, 2004, 2002, and 2007. When something has just “been in that spot” for a while – it starts to go unnoticed, but this was ridiculous. As I'm standing there holding this stack of antique phone books, I'm not only thinking, “Where the hell did 2005 and2006 go?” but also “why the hell do I have two 2004's” and more importantly, “Why the hell do I even have this stack of phone books?”. As I took a sentimental walk towards the trash can, I started thinking about how obsolete a phone book has become and realized it won't be long and, like Lou Diamond Phillips, the phone book will be a thing of the past. Addresses... Google, phone numbers... Google, Directions... Google, and I can do all of that on the go from my PDA phone. Wow - life is grand. Shortly after ridding my home of unnecessary directories of names and phone numbers that some call a phone book, I also weeded out all the maps, atlases, and even an unabridged dictionary and volume 6 of the Encyclopedia Britannica just for good measure, because that stuff is online too. |

One door closes and another door opens. Yes, thats quite cliché, but you would think that I would start to believe that it is true by now. Life for me has been a roller coaster for the past few months, which is good for one reason I will revisit in a bit, but I would definitely like to see things take a solid and consistent path in the near future, especially since a certain spontaneous independence walked into my life recently - like this weekend. Premature speculation, sure... Hopeful and optimistic, YES.
I look for lessons in daily life, and the past two days were packed with them, so if I still have your attention, then you might as well keep reading. Here are a few things that were proven true this weekend:
Lesson 1) Just when you think there is no hope for you based on the position you are in (or where you are physically located), don't give up – something good will find you.
